As far as the land, we know from the Bible that God gave the land to the Israelite people, and will set Jerusalem up to be His capital city. Jesus mourned over Jerusalem before going to the cross. The Palestinian people aren't really Palestinian-- they are Jordanian, Egytian and Syrian. Their home countries refuse to take them after the land was given to Israel in 1948 and have been pawns for the continued attempts to overthrow the Israeli government. I don't think He has turned his back on them or is finished with them in any way. I think the real issue in Israel is that the Jews want to lay claim to land, that God has ordained for others as well. I don't think God intended Israel to be just for Jews. I believe it was to be called 'home' to many. It is sad that so many want peace there, but others only want racial purity in the nation. Everyone bawks at the Jews that were killed during WWII, but the same things have been going on in Israel towards Palestinians for decades. It is sad that many Americans don't understand the conflict that is going on there. We are only concerned with what the news reporters tell us, therefore we are blinded to the real issues.
