Get Married or Get Out
The small town of Black Jack, Missouri, is taking a stand for the standard definition of marriage.
The brewing controversy in Black Jack, a town of 6,800 in the central state of Missouri, began unfolding earlier this year when Olivia Shelltrack and Fondray Loving were denied an occupancy permit after moving into a four-bedroom house they had purchased.

Supreme Court Fails, Senate Panel Succeeds in Standing for the Traditional Family
If you ever wondered what would happen should the topic of same sex marriage come up to the Supreme court, I don’t think you have to wonder about it any more. It seems that when it comes to the hard questions, the Supremes are sometimes more than willing to let whatever may happen lower happen. It’s enough to make you wonder if even a Constitutional Amendment could make a difference.

What Has Happened to Teenage Girls?
What’s happening to our teenage girls? Is it the fact that they are being told that it’s ok to be like the stereotypical guy?
Teenage girls are now more likely than boys to drink, smoke, steal and take drugs, a survey has shown.
In a disturbing confirmation of the spread of the ‘ladette’ culture, it found violence, aggression and self-destructive behaviour has spread alarmingly among girls over the past 20 years.
While boys appear less likely to be drawn towards crime or drugs than they were, psychological and social problems are stacking up among teenage girls, who are now expected to compete on equal terms with boys for educational opportunity and jobs.

I can’t say it better myself, so here it is:
Here’s a Memorial Day quiz:
1. Who is Jessica Lynch?
Correct. She’s the Army private captured, and later rescued, in the early days of the war.
2. Who is Leigh Ann Hester?
Come on. The Kentucky National Guard vehicle commander was awarded a Silver Star last year for fighting off an insurgent attack on a convoy in Iraq. The first woman to receive a Silver Star since World War II, and the first woman ever to receive one for close combat.

Abortion - Now it’s Something Holy?
Jill Stanek’s article this week reveals where the lunatic fringe of the abortion industry is going with it’s thought. For them abortion isn’t just a “right”, it’s sacred. This is opposed to most people who at least pay lipservice to say that abortion should be “safe, legal and rare” but then complain that it’s getting too rare that women don’t have access to it.
You have to read what the woman pictured below has said to believe it. (You can hmm “Imagine” if you want…) Read the rest of this page »
Who You Become is More Important Than What You Do
This reminder comes to us from Rebecca Haglin:
In the “business” of life, it’s sometimes easy to forget that, as author Dr. vs. Gilbert Beers says, “What our children become is infinitely more important than what our children will do.”
In other words, it’s who they are becoming on the inside that matters most.
In the hubbub of living in the fast lane that is modern America, I must remind myself that the greatest gift I can impart to my children is to teach them to love God with all of their hearts and minds, and to love their neighbors as they love themselves.
How true this is. God calls us to make an impact, to impart a passion for Him in people. He blesses us with children as the closest neighbors to make disciples. As my church’s Sunday School class has been focusing on teens– it’s more important who they become! We can give them all the activities and entertainment and physical things, but in the end, it is who they are, not what they have.
A big key to this is who the parents are, and what kind of example they are. What parents focus on and what they do with their time will have a big impact on who the children are. So, watch what you watch on TV. Take time to talk with your children. Realize that the time you have to make your impact is short. Get to your church as often as the doors are open!
Human Trafficking in the U.S.A.
As the debate swirls around immigration, illegal immigration, and what to do about it– here’s another wrinkle to toss into the conversation:
Federal agents rounded up 66 people Monday in a series of raids described by officials as smashing a ring that smuggled Mexicans into the United States and may have forced women to work as prostitutes.
Officers with the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided 15 locations in New Jersey and New York early Monday after New Jersey State Police pulled over two vehicles containing at least 10 women who had been working in brothels in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, said Kyle Hutchins, special agent in charge of the bureau’s Newark office.
None of the alleged prostitution took place in New Jersey, authorities said. Rather, when their weekly or monthly shifts in Washington-area brothels were finished, the women would be driven to northern New Jersey and New York, Hutchins said.
Thirty-six women and 30 men were taken into custody, Hutchins said. Two were charged with illegal money transfer and the rest were being held on immigration charges alleging they were in this country illegally, he said.
It was at least the third major immigrant smuggling ring believed to be operating in New Jersey in recent years.
Authorities said prosecutions involving Russian strippers who were forced to work in go-go bars and young Honduran women forced to work as hostesses are ongoing in federal court.
Hutchins said authorities were trying to determine whether the latest suspected ring was connected to either of the previous cases.
So, because they are illegal, and we have porous borders, people can bring human beings in this country and treat them like cattle. If protecing us from terrorists or a Mexican reclamation of the southwest weren’t big enough reasons to lock down the border, surely human trafficking is!
